Fulfilling Christmas Purposes.

This came at a very crucial point of our lives, where we have several issues going on around the world. We have to deal with issues from hunger and poverty, terrorism, political disorderliness, climate change and the issue of refugee to mention but few.
In few days from now it will be Christmas. first and foremost we must understand the true meaning of Christmas which is ''GIVING'' Christmas is about giving, that should be our first priority when it comes to Christmas celebrations. It's how much you can get but rather it is how much you can give that counts.
I walked along Fifth Avenue to St Thomas Church for the annual Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, I almost forgot that have wanted to flag up this piece for the homeless and less advantage people in our society, but have also wanted to make some photographs to back it up. I remembered after I saw this man on the corner of 53 Street, I quickly brought out my camera, Canon 70D to get a close shot that could tell my story better. I took some portraits of him and I walked closer to have a chat with him. He was extremely happy when I showed him the photographs.
As we go about trying to put things together for ourselves and family for the Christmas, we shouldn't forget the less privileged among us, the orphans, widows, the poor and lonely, those that has no one or nowhere to turn to due to issues from War, Sickness, Poverty and Diseases and all those in one discomfort or the other, let us reach out to them as much as we can. It is by doing these that we are fulfilling the main purpose of Christmas. We should understand that Jesus was given to us. Life should be viewed as relay race, when you get it, you give it back, you don't hold on to it for too long.
It's so sad that the world hast changed completely. No one cares about anyone anymore, we now lived back to back, you give I give you back, people are not interested in giving without getting something in return. You will always want something from someone before you can be of assistance in difficult times. It's very easy to get blindsided and sidetracked. We live in a world that no one really cares who they are stepping on to get what they want, as long as they have it. We have to transition our minds from knowing what is right to doing what is right. It's not an obligation, it is our right to do.
Recently, the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel was honored by the Time Magazine's as Person Of The Year. It's draws attentions from around the world. We all knew these has to do with her generous activities towards the issues of wars and terrorism going on in the Middle East and most especially in Syria, where neighboring Islamic Countries did not allow the Syrians into their Countries. She was the first to respond to the issues, her arms were wide opened to accept the Syrians into Germany, before the other the parts of Europe and America adopted the same act of munificence.. I read someone wrote thank you Angela in the New York Times.
As you looked forward to yet an amazing and fabulous Christmas season, I hope you will be a blessing to someone somewhere no matter how small. Remember it's not how much you give, but rather the heart you are giving it with. What matters most is that you are putting a smile on someone's face.
                  Merry Christmas.
